ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My story with dogs began in childhood—with boundless love for these devoted beings. Over time, my hobby became a lifes work: since 2000 I have studied Chinese Crested Dogs and engaged in their breeding. I am drawn not only to the breeds uniqueness and keen intelligence, but also to the special bond with people, which makes me want to understand the breed more deeply every day. The main inspiration was Gnom (Zholesk Edmond) — a ginger fluffy little one, in memory of whom I dedicate my first book.

My path in cynology has been built from practice and continuous learning: I worked as an instructor during the DOSAAF era, mastered handling, grooming, and rehabilitation of dogs — each area expanding my understanding of the dog as a partner and a friend. I led the city club of animal lovers Ecology, organized events that brought together owners and their pets, trained service dogs, and conducted exhibitions and competitions. Later I moved to theory and popularization of the breed: I wrote articles, published the magazines Naked World and World of Chinese Crested Dogs.

My mission is public education: seminars for judges, webinars, I speak about the depth of the breeds character. I am the author of the project Chinese Crested Dog — A Gift for the Soul and the organizer of the charitable festival Bright World of Chinese Crested

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who was by my side on this challenging, yet bright and engaging path of creating my first book about the Chinese Crested Dog.

Chinese Crested Dog (CCD)

Chinese Crested Dog — this is a dog of surprises and the embodiment of elegance, wrapped in an astonishingly functional body. This is not a porcelain figurine nor a fragile toy on a cushion. It contains hidden strength: elongated, flowing lines of the silhouette conceal powerful musculature, and its movements are full of natural grace.

It demands respect for its intellect and energy. Behind the exotic appearance lies the soul of a deft hunter, a skilled gymnast, and the most devoted companion.

The breed varies greatly in size and can be deceptively light, or unexpectedly heavy. Often, choosing a puppy becomes a real intrigue for the breeder — you never know for sure whether it will grow into a refined deer or a denser, solidly built «cobby».
