Robin Hood — noble robber. Was he a criminal or a hero?

Robin Hood is one of the most famous characters in English folklore. He was a skilled archer and swordsman. He lived in Sherwood Forest with his band of Merry Men. They wore green clothes and lived in the trees. Robin Hood's main enemy was the Sheriff of Nottingham. The Sheriff was a cruel man who taxed the poor people heavily.

Robin Hood did not follow the rules of the law. He stole from the rich and gave to the poor. But was he a hero or a criminal? The answer depends on how you look at it. The rich people thought he was a criminal because he took their money and goods. But the poor people loved him because he helped them survive.

Why did Robin Hood become a criminal? He was originally a nobleman, but he lost his land and money. The Sheriff and his men were hunting him because he was an outlaw. Robin Hood could not return to his normal life. He had to live in the forest and fight for survival.

Historians are not sure if Robin Hood was a real person. There are many stories about him from different centuries. Some historians believe there was a real man called Robert Hod who lived in the 13th century. But others think Robin Hood is only a legend. The stories about Robin Hood are still popular today. There are many films, books and TV shows about him. People love his story because he stood up against injustice.
