My Morning Routine
I usually wake up at seven in the morning, but yesterday I woke up late because my alarm didn’t ring. I jumped out of bed and quickly put on my clothes. Even though I was in a hurry, I always make my bed because it makes my room look neat. After that, I go to the bathroom, wash my face, and brush my teeth. Sometimes I spend a few minutes looking at myself in the mirror and thinking about the day ahead.
Breakfast is my favorite part of the morning. I like to have cereal with milk and a banana, but on weekends I usually eat pancakes with honey. My little brother sometimes eats very slowly, so I have to wait for him, although I’m often already late for school. After breakfast, I pack my backpack. I always check that I have my homework, books, and lunch. It’s a small habit, but it helps me avoid problems later.
On school days, I leave the house around eight o’clock. I usually walk to the bus stop with my neighbor, Mia. We talk about everything, from TV shows to our favorite songs, so the walk is never boring. If it rains, we take an umbrella, but sometimes we still get wet, and it’s a little funny. The bus ride is interesting too, because I often see other students reading or listening to music. I usually listen to music as well, because it helps me feel awake and happy.
Sometimes my morning routine changes a little. Last week, we had a school trip, so I woke up extra early to get ready. Even though it was tiring, I felt excited because trips are always fun. I like mornings when everything goes smoothly, but I also enjoy small surprises, like seeing a rainbow or hearing a bird singing outside my window. These little things make my day start in a good mood.
I know that a morning routine might seem boring to some people, but for me it is important. It helps me feel ready for school and gives me a sense of control. I always try to wake up on time and follow my habits, but I don’t mind if something unexpected happens. Mornings are full of possibilities, and I like to start mine with a smile.
