Her dart zinged his heart, but he toughened his jaw, appearing exactly as she coined him. “If I don’t do it, someone else will.”

“And that makes it alright?

“Right?” he bit out. “You’re talking to me about what’s right and wrong?”

“I won’t let you do it.”
