The Call of History

Rain tapped gently against the window. Inside the house, everything was calm. Alex lay on the soft rug in the living room. An old book about Ancient Egypt was open in front of him. He slowly turned another page. There were pictures of golden masks, tall temples, and a giant pyramid rising into the bright blue sky.

"I wish I could see it one day," he said quietly. Across the room, Lily looked up from her sketchbook. She was drawing the same pyramid. A golden sun shone above it. Two camels walked across the sand, and tall palm trees stood near a wide river.

"I think Egypt is full of mysteries," she said. Alex smiled.

"I think you're right." For a few peaceful seconds, the only sound in the room was the rain.

Then...BEEP...BEEP...BEEP...Alex sat up.

"Did you hear that?"

Lily nodded.

"It wasn't my phone." The strange sound came again. This time, Alex's watch began to glow with a soft blue light.

"It's glowing!" he whispered. Lily gasped.

"My backpack!" A bright blue light was shining through the zipper.

The room suddenly felt warmer. The air shimmered. Tiny blue sparks floated around them like little stars.

"What is happening?" Lily asked. Before anyone could answer, a tiny silver robot flew out of the light. He was no taller than a school ruler. His round blue eyes sparkled with kindness. Small silver wings buzzed softly as he hovered in the air. He smiled.

"Good morning, Alex, Good morning, Lily, My name is Milo."

The children stared at him.

"You... can talk?" Alex asked.

"Of course," Milo replied with a cheerful laugh, "I can also fly, count in two hundred languages, and make excellent hot chocolate."

Lily laughed. "I already like you."

Milo made a happy little spin in the air.

"I'm very happy to hear that." Then his smile became serious, "I have an important message."

The room grew quiet again.

"I come from Professor Thomas."

"Who is Professor Thomas?" Alex asked.

Instead of answering, Milo looked toward the middle of the room. A tiny blue circle appeared on the floor. It slowly became larger. The light grew brighter. The circle began to spin. A cool breeze filled the room. The children stepped back. Out of the glowing light walked a tall man with silver hair. He wore a long brown coat and carried an old leather bag. Strange clocks, maps, and shining tools peeked out from inside it. The man smiled warmly.

"Hello, Alex, hello, Lily, my name is Professor Thomas, it is wonderful to finally meet you."

Lily looked at the glowing circle on the floor.

"Did you really come through that?"

Professor Thomas nodded.

"Yes, it is a Time Portal."

Alex blinked.

"A real Time Portal?"

"A very real one," the professor said with a smile.

Milo floated proudly beside him.

"I helped build it."

Professor Thomas chuckled.

"You helped polish it."

Milo crossed his tiny arms.

"That is also very important."

Everyone laughed. Then the professor carefully opened an old map. It looked older than any book Alex had ever seen. Seven golden stars shone on the map. Each star marked one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Slowly... One of the stars began to flicker. Its golden light grew weaker.

"What does that mean?" Lily whispered.

Professor Thomas's smile disappeared.

"It means history is changing." The room suddenly felt colder.

"If history changes...the future changes too."

Alex looked at the fading star.

"Can we stop it?" Professor Thomas looked at both children.

"I believe you can." He pointed to the fading light. "This star is the Great Pyramid of Giza, if it disappears from history...millions of people will never know one of the greatest wonders ever built."

Lily took a deep breath.

"What do we have to do?"

“We must travel to Ancient Egypt to discover who is trying to change the past and protect the Great Pyramid.”

Milo's eyes shone brightly.

"Adventure is waiting!"

The blue portal sparkled once more. This time, warm desert air flowed into the room. Alex could almost smell the sand.

Far away, he thought he heard people talking... and the sound of heavy stones moving across the ground. Professor Thomas stepped toward the portal.

"Our mission begins now."

Alex looked at Lily. She smiled.

"Ready?"

Alex smiled back.

"Ready."

Together, they stepped into the glowing light. The room disappeared. The rain disappeared. The light grew brighter and brighter. Time itself began to move. Their greatest adventure had just begun.

The Land of the Golden Sun

The blue light swirled around Alex and Lily. Everything spun faster and faster. They closed their eyes. Then... Silence. A warm breeze touched Alex's face. He slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was the sky. It was bright blue. Not a single cloud floated above them. Golden sunlight filled the world. Lily looked around.

"We're here..."

Soft sand stretched in every direction. Palm trees swayed gently in the wind. A wide river sparkled like glass. Birds flew low over the water. The air smelled warm and fresh. Alex smiled.

"It doesn't look like the pictures in my book, it looks... alive."

Milo hovered beside them. His little wings hummed softly.

"Welcome to Ancient Egypt.", his eyes glowed with excitement, you have traveled more than four thousand five hundred years into the past."

Lily's mouth fell open.

"That's impossible."

Professor Thomas smiled.

"It is impossible, unless you have a Time Portal."

Everyone laughed. The children slowly walked forward. The sand felt warm beneath their shoes. A colorful butterfly fluttered past. Far away, they heard people talking. There was laughter. The sound of animals. The splash of water.

"This place is beautiful," Lily whispered.

Professor Thomas nodded.

“The River Nile gives life to this land. Without the Nile, there would be no farms, villages, or great pyramids.”

Milo spun happily in the air.

"History Spark!"

A tiny golden map appeared on the screen on his chest, A blue line crossed the land from south to north.

"This is the Nile," Milo explained, every year, the river brings rich soil, the farmers grow wheat, vegetables, and fruit."

Alex watched the glowing map.

"So, the river helps everyone."

"Exactly," Milo said proudly.

Professor Thomas folded the map away.

"We must keep moving, the Great Pyramid is still many hours from here." They followed a dusty path beside the river. Soon they saw green fields. Farmers worked together. Some carried baskets. Others guided oxen across the land. Children laughed as they chased white ducks near the water. One little boy waved. Alex waved back.

"It feels like visiting another world."

"It is another world," Professor Thomas replied gently.

After a while, Milo suddenly stopped in the air. His blue eyes blinked twice.

"Professor...I have detected something unusual."

Professor Thomas became serious.

"What is it?"

Milo looked toward the horizon.

"There should be hundreds of workers near Giza…but...I cannot find them."

Alex frowned.

"What does that mean?"

Milo's voice became quieter.

"It means history is already beginning to change."

The warm wind grew stronger. Far away, beyond the fields and the shining river, a giant shape slowly appeared through the golden desert air. Alex stopped walking. Lily took a deep breath. Neither of them spoke. On the horizon stood the Great Pyramid. Tall. Silent. Magnificent. And somehow... It felt as if it were waiting for them.

The Builder of the Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid stood proudly beneath the golden sun. Alex stopped walking.

"So big..." he whispered.

Lily could not take her eyes off it.

"It looks like a mountain."

Professor Thomas smiled.

"It is one of the greatest buildings in history."

The children walked closer. The ground became busy and noisy. Hundreds of people were working together. Some pulled large blocks of white limestone. Some carried wooden tools. Others brought water to the workers. Strong oxen slowly pulled heavy sledges across the sand. There was no shouting. Everyone worked together with care. Alex looked surprised.
