Nikolai the Nuthatch and the Forest Adventures

Once upon a time, far, far away, there lived a little nuthatch named Nikolai. He lived in a dense forest among the trees, and he loved to sit on the branches and bask in the warm rays of the summer sun.

Nikolai the nuthatch was small and charming, and he enjoyed climbing trees with thick green foliage. Nikolai was very quick and agile, and he could move around a tree without even using his wings. He could climb up very quickly and also come down just as fast, right along the bark. He could do this because he had a little trick – his small paws with very sharp claws.

After eating, he liked to take a nap during the day on the branches, fluffing up his beautiful feathers. But he always slept very cautiously, because even during the day, one could run into danger, so he always had a light sleep.

Nikolai the nuthatch usually looked for food in the trees. He ate worms that lived in the bark, and to get to them, he used his very sharp beak.
