A New City – Новый город

Текст

Anna moved to a new city last month. She felt excited but also a little nervous. Everything was different: the streets, the shops, and the people. She did not know anyone there, and she missed her old friends.

On her first day, Anna decided to explore the neighborhood. She walked slowly and looked around. There was a small park near her house. In the park, children were playing, and some people were walking their dogs. Anna sat on a bench and watched them. It made her feel a bit better.

After that, she went to a café. She ordered a cup of coffee and a sandwich. The woman behind the counter smiled and said, “Welcome! Are you new here?” Anna nodded and said yes. They started talking. The woman’s name was Lisa, and she was very friendly.

Lisa told Anna about the city. She showed her a map and recommended some places to visit. Anna felt happy to meet someone kind. Before leaving, Lisa said, “You can come here anytime.”

In the evening, Anna called her best friend. She talked about her day and the new city. “I still miss home,” she said, “but I think I will like it here.”

Her friend smiled and said, “You are brave. Give it some time.”

Anna looked out of the window. The city lights were beautiful. She felt a little less lonely. Maybe this new place could become her home one day.
