LIANA
The capacitors can wait, nothing will happen to them, but you can't. You've lost weight, soon your eyes will be invisible, go rest. Doctor's orders. Or I'll send you to the infirmary.
THOMAS leaves. SOFIA enters, sits down, starts sorting through paperwork.
SOFIA
(in a half-whisper, filling out forms)
Sparks flying again?
LIANA
(sighs)
He doesn't understand, Sofia. He's building a fortress out of people, but they aren't bricks. They get tired and fatigue accumulates. They are quite exhausted these last few days. And I'm afraid when the real storm comes, his walls will be the first to collapse.
SOFIA
Or maybe he's the only one who sees that storm on the horizon.
LIANA looks out the window, at the boundless and serene ocean, silvered with the reflections of the Sun behind the rustling palm trees, the reed fence, the fluttering parrots.
