(IN A SNOW-WHITE FOLDER)

…before you both become older,

watching the trees get balder.

It’s getting colder and colder

as the night’s naked shoulder

shivers. You want to hold her

in your arms as you fold her

dreams in a snow-white folder…

(RAIN’S REFRAIN)

…to the rain’s refrain

again and again.

I like it when

it rains at night.

As a rain man,

I like to write

tied to that time,

you try to rhyme

about what was

But every thought

is about what

you ought to do

another fall.

Across the hall,

you see a cross.

You start to cross

an empty street,

hoping to meet

someone you know.

But there is no

one there, except

you. You accept

that because you

Some think It rhymes.

…are words also things?

Are things, then, words?

Are there strings
