The two eclipses this month are replays (although not quite exact replays) of the eclipses of January. The solar eclipse of the 2nd occurs in your 4th house of home and family. So, there can be dramas at home – perhaps repairs are needed. There are dramas in the lives of family members (especially a parent or parent figure). This parent or parent figure has some financial crisis and dramatic change is needed (which will happen over the next six months). The family finances, as a whole, need to be changed. The strategy and thinking have been unrealistic, as the events of the eclipse will show. Children and children figures (ruled by the Sun in your chart) are always affected by every solar eclipse. So they need reduce their schedules over this period. Do your best to keep them out of harm’s way.

The lunar eclipse of the 16th occurs in your 10th house of career and is the second of three eclipses that happen here this year. So, there are more career changes and shake-ups. There are shake-ups in the corporate hierarchy and in your industry. Bosses, parents and parent figures – authority figures in your life – have personal dramas. Their marriages are being tested (this happened during the solar eclipse of the 2nd too). Again, repairs can be needed at home. Emotions are volatile in the family – perhaps there is some sort of crisis going on. Siblings and sibling figures in your life have a financial crisis, and dramatic changes will be needed in this area.

Retrograde activity is at its maximum for the year. Half of the planets are moving in reverse from the 7th onwards. Changes and decisions need to be made, but study things more carefully first.

Once the dust settles from the eclipses, you begin a yearly personal pleasure peak from the 21st onwards. Enjoy your life. Handle your challenges, but make time for some fun.

Retrograde activity among the planets is still intense this month, but less so than in July. On the 2nd, Mercury starts moving forward, and on the 11th Jupiter moves forward. But on the 12th Uranus starts to go backward. Again, patience, patience, patience. With this many planets retrograde, the cosmos is urging you to be more perfect in all that you do. Little mistakes can delay things even further. Go slow, steady and perfectly. This is, ultimately, the fastest way to your goals.

You have been in one of your yearly personal pleasure peaks since July 21, and this continues until August 23. It is not irresponsible to have fun now. It will actually increase earnings and lead to love. It will also have a positive impact on your health and well-being. The cosmos is often counter-intuitive.

The month ahead looks to be prosperous. It is a good kind of prosperity. A happy prosperity. Venus, your financial planet, will be in your 5th house until the 21st. This shows luck in speculations (I especially like the 8th and 9th for this). The 8th and 9th are days of very strong financial increase. It shows money that is earned in happy, joyful ways and that you’re enjoying the wealth you have, spending on fun and leisure and joyful activities. Those of you in the creative arts will find your work more marketable. Children and children figures seem supportive (and you could be spending more on them too). One of the problems here can be overspending. You earn easily and you spend easily. You’re an impulse spender. However, this will change after the 21st as Venus moves into Virgo, your 6th house of health and work. You will have more financial caution. You will seek value for money. You will be less speculative and down to earth. You will earn from work and productive service. Job seekers should have good success from the 23rd onwards as there are many job opportunities happening – even those of you already employed will have opportunities for overtime or second jobs.

Love is happy this month too. The 8th and 9th not only bring financial increase, but happy love opportunities and meetings. Love doesn’t seem too serious these days. Love affairs rather than serious, committed relationships are indicated. You just want to have fun and you’re probably attracting these kinds of people too. Love opportunities happen in the usual sorts of places this month (until the 21st) – at parties, resorts, the theatre and places of entertainment. After the 21st the workplace becomes a venue for love. But love can also happen as you pursue your health goals or with people involved in your health. On July 3 the Western social sector of your chart started to become powerful. This means that the planetary power has been moving away from you and towards others. This month the planets are approaching their maximum Western (social) positions. Thus, since July 3, there has been less personal independence. There has been a need to develop the social graces and to get things done by consensus rather than by direct action. It is a time to let others have their way (so long as it isn’t destructive), and to allow your good to come to you through others. It is a time to take a vacation from yourself, and put others first. This, as we have said before, is not especially saintly; it’s just the cycle you’re in. Changing conditions that irk you is more complicated now. Best to make a note of them and make the changes later on, when you’re back in a more independent cycle. While this period brings a lessening of independence, it is wonderful for your love and social life. (Independence is a wonderful quality, but not such a good thing for love.) On the 23rd, as the Sun enters Libra, your 7th house of love and romance, you enter a yearly love and social peak. So romance is in the air, and you’re in the mood for it – open to it.

Venus’s solstice, from the 15th to the 18th, is the announcement of the coming social shift. She pauses in the Heavens (in her latitudinal motion) and then changes direction. And so it is with you. There is a social pause and then a change of direction.

In the meantime, with your 6th house of health and work very strong, it is a good time to do all those boring, detailed jobs that you normally hate to do. You’re more in the mood for this type of work and they should go easier and faster. It is good that you’re very focused on health this month as the care you take now will stand you in good stead after the 23rd, when health becomes an issue.

After the 23rd, up to 60 per cent of the planets will be in stressful alignment with you at times. Your normal superabundant energy is not up to its usual standard. If you feel tired, take a nap. Recharge. No vehicle can run with no fuel in the tank. Work more calmly and shift activities. Don’t fret over trivia. Focus on what’s really important. Until the 14th enhance the health by massaging the reflex point to the small intestine. After the 14th, enhance the health in the ways mentioned in the yearly report. Pay more attention to the kidneys and hips. Massage the hips regularly. A herbal kidney cleanse might also be a good idea. The good news is that good social health (which you seem to have) will reflect positively on your energetic health.

Venus moves into your 7th house of love on the 14th, where she is powerful in her own sign and house. So your finances should be good. Social grace and likeability are always important in your financial life, but this period even more so than normal. Joint ventures and partnerships could also happen.

This month your 7th house of love becomes even stronger, with Mars’s move into there on the 4th. He joins the Sun and Venus, meaning that two out of the three most important planets in your chart – the Sun and the ruler of your Horoscope – will be in your 7th house. This signals a lot of social power. Your yearly love and social peak is even stronger. Your personal popularity is at its height. You’re there for others and they feel this and appreciate it. You’re a good friend to have these days. You’re also personally more romantic. Singles will have many love opportunities.

Health is still very much an issue this month – especially until the 23rd. Keep in mind our discussion of this last month. The problem this month is that your 6th house of health is empty after the 4th, and so you might not be paying enough attention here – and you should. Enhance the health in the ways mentioned in the yearly report. After the 3rd pay more attention to the colon, bladder and sexual organs. Most of you will tend to be overactive sexually – best to keep it in moderation. Don’t deprive yourself, but don’t overdo it either. A herbal colon cleanse might be a good idea, and you will respond well to detox regimes. Health and energy will improve after the 23rd, when the planetary stress is greatly reduced.

Mars, the ruler of your Horoscope, has his solstice from the 4th to the 11th. He pauses in the Heavens in his latitudinal motion, and then changes direction. It is interesting that this happens as he is changing signs and houses – leaving your 6th house and entering your 7th. So there is a personal shift of gears for you. You become more social.

But there is another shift that Mars is announcing. He is crossing from the lower (night side) of your chart to the upper (day) side. Thus, the upper half of the chart is now totally dominant: 80 per cent (and sometimes 90 per cent) of the planets will be in the upper half of the chart. Now the career becomes all consuming. Last month (on the 18th) your career planet, Saturn, started to move forward after many months of retrograde motion. Things are starting to move forward in your career and you’re ready to take advantage. All systems are go. You are successful now, but you haven’t even touched your peak.

The upper (day) side of your Horoscope is not only strong quantitatively – at least 80 per cent of the planets are there – but qualitatively as well. The Sun and Mars, two of the three most important planets in your chart, spend all month here. And there are periods where even the Moon (the other most important planet) will also be here (from the 1st to the 7th and from the 22nd to the end of the month). Your 10th house of career, strong all year, becomes even stronger on the 26th as Venus, enters. Your 4th house of home and family, by contrast, is basically empty. Only the Moon moves through there on the 16th and 17th. So the power and might of the cosmos is in your career and outer goals. Pursue them actively. You have a lot of help.

Your 8th house of regeneration became powerful on October 23 and is still strong this month. Thus the libido is stronger than usual and, as long as you don’t overdo it, things will be OK. The spouse, partner or current love is having a banner financial month. You seem very involved here – especially from the 19th onwards. A strong 8th house favours detox regimes of all kinds – and not only physical detoxing. It favours the detoxing of the mind and emotions, too – the purging of negative habits of thought and feeling – as well as the detoxing of possessions. There is a need to de-clutter your environment, to get rid of possessions that you don’t need or use. Sell them or give them to charity. A strong 8th house is also good for weight-loss regimes, if you need them. Good physical health is often a matter of getting rid of things in the body that don’t belong there (and not so much about adding things to the body). The month ahead is prosperous. Venus spends almost all month – until the 26th – in Sagittarius, your 9th house. This is a fortunate place. Earnings are increasing. There is boundless financial optimism. Foreigners might be playing an important role in the financial life. There is business-related foreign travel.

Venus will go ‘out of bounds’ from the 15th to the 30th. This signals that you’re more adventurous in both love and finance. The solutions you seek are not in your normal spheres and you must go outside them to find what you want. And it seems you’re successful. Venus travels with Jupiter from the 22nd to the 24th, indicating a nice payday. For singles this indicates an important romantic meeting as well.

On the 26th Venus crosses your Mid-heaven for the second time this year. On the terrestrial level, the Mid-heaven is the most powerful position for any planet. This is another good signal for prosperity. It should bring a nice payday.

Your 10th house has been strong all year, but this month at least 60 per cent, and at times 70 per cent, of the planets are in or moving through your 10th house. Keep in mind our health discussions of the past few months. You won’t be able to avoid working hard or avoid the demands of your career, but you can pace yourself better. Rest when tired. Drop the inessentials from your life or delegate them to others. Get more massages or health treatments. Spend more spare time at a health spa. Until the 9th continue with detox regimes. From the 9th to the 24th enhance your health through thigh massage and more care of the liver. Prayer is potent medicine too. After the 24th, back and knee massage will be powerful. It will also be useful to review the yearly report on health.

A solar eclipse on the 26th occurs in your career house, the third eclipse of the year in this house. It seems to me that, though the eclipse is disruptive, it is positive. (Good things can be just as disruptive as bad things.) It takes time to adjust to the disruption, and you should definitely reduce your schedule over this period. The good news is that the eclipse happens just after Christmas, so many will not be working that day. Travelling, though, wouldn’t be advisable then. Instead, spend some quiet time at home. The same advice goes for children, children figures, parents and parent figures in your life. This eclipse occurs very near Jupiter, so college-level (or college-bound) students are affected. They could change schools, courses or other educational plans.

Venus, your love and financial planet, is still ‘out of bounds’ until the 13th. This indicates, as was mentioned last month, that you feel a need to go outside your normal haunts in order to fulfil your financial and love goals.

Understanding a Taurus

Taurus is the most earthy of all the Earth signs. If you understand that Earth is more than just a physical element, that it is a psychological attitude as well, you will get a better understanding of the Taurus personality.

A Taurus has all the power of action that an Aries has. But Taurus is not satisfied with action for its own sake. Their actions must be productive, practical and wealth-producing. If Taurus cannot see a practical value in an action they will not bother taking it.

Taurus’s forte lies in their power to make real their own or other people’s ideas. They are generally not very inventive but they can take another’s invention and perfect it, making it more practical and useful. The same is true for all projects. Taurus is not especially keen on starting new projects, but once they get involved they bring things to completion. They are finishers and will go the distance, so long as no unavoidable calamity intervenes.
