The Grey Veliar

The Grey Veliar is the sequel to the science-fiction novel The Ticket. Iida, an officer of the Galactic Council’s space intelligence, travels to a station in distant Earth orbit to assist councillor Tarion in investigating the origins of the deadly Genomode virus. She discovers that Tarion and the entire crew of the Armaon have already vanished under mysterious circumstances, and Iida herself is soon taken captive. In her confinement she meets a survivor of the extinct smorg race, whose world was destroyed by the same virus a thousand years ago. Meanwhile, through a web of hidden manipulation, two great civilizations, the Vriinians and the Rionians, find themselves drawn into a serious conflict and stand on the brink of a devastating galactic war.
