Twenty-Five Knots to the China Seas

Every voyage at sea, on any ship, is legally defined as an adventure. This adventure is unprecedented and is set in the year 1974, when the British Merchant Navy was at its peak. After a very short spell at home, McLaren, a young Deck Officer, is told to join another ship. He's sent to a very fast new container ship which is due to sail to the Far East. Upon arriving on board, he finds no one is able to operate the modern equipment on the bridge and the skipper is a drunk. The ship sails and on the trip they make two rescues. The voyage is completed and has an ending the reader wouldn't expect. This is a compelling fictional story of the sea.
